MIL-DTL-38999 (formerly MIL C 38999 WIKI) describes four series of miniature, high density, bayonet, threaded, or breech coupling, circular, environment resistant, electrical connectors using removable crimp or fixed solder contacts, and are capable of operation within a temperature range of -65 to +200 degrees Celsius. Description of MIL-DTL-83513 Microminiature D Connectors

By its very design, the Micro-D connector system meets all the requirements of robustness, durability, low contact resistance, high current, dielectric strength, shock, and vibration. With 1.27 mm (.050″) contact spacing, Micro-D connectors, half the size of D type connectors (D series connectors), represent an excellent solution for saving both space and weight. In addition to a complete range of Micro-D connectors to 83513 micro D connectors, Sunkye also offers Micro-D PCB connectors and cable assemblies in both metal and plastic bodied versions. With its many possible configurations, the technology of micro electrical connectors is perfectly suited to a multitude of systems where weight, miniaturization or signal transmission integrity is paramount: applications benefiting from this technology include everything from missiles and their guidance systems, through oil well drilling tools to medical devices, satellites, and scientific research. By the unique design and performance, Sunkye micro d connectors equipped with twist pin contact is enabled to meet the most severe requirements, often significantly more so than stipulated in the MIL-DTL-83513 and MIL-DTL-32139 standards. The male micro D contact is composed of 10 strands of copper alloy and beryllium-copper twisted together, which is welded then bumped. A high number of electrical contact points are permanently assured while retaining flexibility and ease of insertion/ extraction, because during insertion into the turned female contact the 10 sprung strands are compressed. To keep insertion and retention performance of the twist pin and socket mated pair, the bulged point will be compressed inside the socket during insertion. Meanwhile, the exit of socket contact chamfer and twist pin hemispherical radius ensures adequate insertion even in case of misalignment.

Description of Micro Wireless Backshel

This type of device is designed to provide screening, sealing, and reparability. Micro-D EMI backshells connect cable shields to Micro-D connectors, providing strain relief and mechanical protection. Engineered to help resist corrosion and fit a wide range of circular connectors, backshell and adapter components help protect connections from mechanical wear, environmental conditions, and electromagnetic interference (EMI). Description of Mini Crimp Connectors

An electrical crimp is a type of solder less electrical connection. Micro crimp connectors are typically used to terminate stranded wire. Crimping is normally performed by first inserting the terminal into the crimp tool. The terminal must be placed into the appropriately sized crimp barrel. MIL-DTL-32139 Nano D Connectors

The MIL-DTL-83513 and MIL-DTL-32139 specifications define the minimum acceptable performance levels for Micro-D and Nano miniature connectors. While the specs are rigid in their performance benchmarks, manufacturers are given considerable leeway when it comes to contact design, crimp fabrication, contact finish and materialselection. Stamped and formed contacts, for example, are widely used in Micro-d connectors due to their low cost and ease of manufacture. Sunkye answers the call with a series of Micro D (1.27*1.1mm) & Nano D (0.635*1.02mm) metric sockets and pins headers available in vertical and right angle configurations, with SMT and through-hole termination.

All Sunkye connectors are MIL-DTL compliant and are assembled with precision machined Becu twist pins assembled into high-temperature insulators. Through the combination of right angle pin headers plugged into vertical sockets, customers can create perpendicular mate configurations.
